  16. After eight months in federal prison, a month at a halfway house
  17. and two months under penthouse arrest, Helmsley completed her
  18. sentence for income-tax evasion and mail fraud. Her downfall:
  19. billing to her businesses millions of dollars in personal expenses
  20. like renovations of her Connecticut estate. Still awaiting the
  21. "Queen of Mean": 250 hours a year of community service for three
  22. years.
